In recent years, the brown corundum industry has faced a series of pressures such as sluggish downstream demand and overcapacity. How does the brown corundum industry develop? How enterprises respond is a concern for everyone. At the 3rd China (Yixing) Refractory Raw Materials International Trade Fair held on April 18th, we had the privilege of inviting Mr. Li Yutong, General Manager of Yingkou Shunyi Refractory Materials Co., Ltd., to share his views on the company and the brown corundum industry.

Refractory Window: Hello Mr. Li, thank you for accepting our interview. Could you please talk about our company's layout in the brown corundum industry and what advantages do we have in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions?

Mr. Li: Currently, there are many domestic enterprises producing brown corundum. We have many years of experience in operating brown corundum and have a good understanding of its performance and usage requirements. We often hear feedback from customers regarding certain issues. To meet the needs of customers and provide high-quality corundum products, we need to strictly control the entire production chain from raw materials to smelting and processing, and truly reduce costs for customers. This is our consideration for laying out the brown corundum industry.

We have many refractory material enterprises in Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions, and we also have many friends who have very good cooperation with us. Our production base is located in the south, which is advantageous for enterprises in Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions. Our production base is only 230 kilometers away from Qinzhou Port and is transported by sea to Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and northern markets, with very low shipping costs.

Window of Refractory: Mr. Li, the corundum industry is indeed facing some pressure. How do you view the development of the brown corundum market and how do we respond?

Mr. Li: I think the first thing is quality control. A good product doesn't have to worry about having a market. Specifically, for our company, we mainly strengthen quality control in several aspects. Firstly, our raw materials are extracted from local mines, and we adopt the latest mining technology to ensure strict quality control of bauxite ore at every step of the extraction process. We select the ore with the highest purity and very low impurities, and control the ore quality through strict inspection in the laboratory located in the mine, ensuring that the highest purity raw material is put into production from the source. Another aspect is process control. We currently have six brown corundum smelting furnaces and two tilting furnaces, with an annual production capacity of 100000 tons. In addition, the processing process involves using advanced equipment for secondary processing of brown corundum in the processing factory. We use top-notch processing equipment in the industry, and the durability and reliability of the processed brown corundum are very stable.

Regarding the current pressures facing the industry, I don't think they are all bad things. We need everyone to do a good job in controlling costs, improving quality, and improving service levels. In the long run, I still have a positive outlook on the market for the brown corundum industry. Whether it is the domestic market or the foreign market, the demand is still considerable.

Window of Refractory: What suggestions do you have for the development of the brown corundum industry, Mr. Li?

Mr. Li: I think it is necessary to have more communication and exchange between industries. Enterprises should strengthen their construction in energy conservation, consumption reduction, and green production; We strive to benefit our customers while also avoiding disorderly competition among peers to ensure the healthy and long-term development of this industry.
